READY FOR SPRING? WE'RE CALLING FOR ENTRIES FOR OUR SPRING POP-UP SHOW AT BORDINE'S
Space for this show is limited, so be an early bird! Entries close at midnight Friday, April 5th or earlier if entries reach our maximum space capacity.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE SHOW The show is Saturday-Sunday April 13-14, 9am-5pm. This will be a fun event taking place during Bordine's 80th Anniversary celebration and Spring Expo. The store is providing food, activities for kids, and seminars for gardeners during the weekend, so it should draw a good crowd of people who are overdue, as we all are, for some spring beauty.
Art work must have some association with nature in Spring. We are especially seeking florals, garden landscapes, and figures depicted in nature, but the show committee will interpret the theme broadly enough to incorporate, for example, an abstract that conveys a sense of Spring. The committee reserves the right to exercise our discretion in adhering to the aesthetics of the show.
Please know that we will be indoors in a very humid environment. We do our best to secure and protect art work, but by entering the show you agree that the Guild and/or Bordine's Nursery will not be held responsible for damage of theft.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS The show is open to Guild members in good standing (2019 dues paid by April 1). The entry fee is $15 per artist, and we will accept up to two pieces per artist. All work must be original, created solely by the artist, dry and wired for hanging (no sawtooth hangers). All works must be tagged with artist/title/medium/price. Photographs must have been taken by the artist. All works must be no wider than 28". We may be able to accommodate a small number of wider paintings on easels; please notify Penny Goldstein at [email protected] if you have a larger work or sculpture.
Participants must assist with the show as host/sales or in another capacity. Volunteer shifts at the Nursery are Saturday: 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm, 3pm-6pm; Sunday: 9am-12pm, 12pm-3pm, 3pm-6pm Contact Deb Sharp at [email protected] to schedule your preferred shift
We are also seeking artists to paint onsite or do a demo during the show - contact Pam Day at mailto:[email protected] if you would like to demo.
SALES The Guild will take a 20% commission on any work sold. Submissions shall constitute an agreement to comply with all the conditions set for entry into the exhibition. We reserve the right to photograph and reproduce in any form the entries for this show for purposes of publicity and/or education. The Brighton Art Guild and it agents, along with Bordine's Nursery are not responsible for loss of or damage to any artwork while in the Guild's possession. Insurance is the responsibility of each artist.
Artists are encouraged to bring a one-page artist statement which will be placed in a notebook for show attendees to browse.
