I started in clay after a career as a carpenter. I do not have degrees but have been fortunate enough to learn from some masters here in Michigan. Robert Piepenberg was most influential, teaching me that the spirit inside must be released in order for the hands to work the clay.Robert set up a workshop with his friend David Roberts, from Yorkshire England, Who is world renowned for his "Naked Raku".This workshop changed and charged me with the "Spirit of Clay".
